The International Year of Chemistry IYC 2011
Dear visitor,
We are delighted to say the closing ceremony of the International Year of Chemistry which took place in Brussels on 1 December 2011 was a great success. It was wonderful to see such interest in the creativity and the potential of chemistry to address the challenges facing our societies. High level speakers and young leaders explored and debated how chemistry is vital for solving our most critical global problems including food, water, health, energy, habitat, and more.
But it doesn’t stop here. Stay tuned for more news and join us on Facebook to follow further suggestions, questions and comments on how chemistry can improve our lives by 2050: http://www.facebook.com/IYCYL !
As mentioned by Alex Scott in Chemical Week: is it The End of the International Year of Chemistry? No, it’s not!
